civilizacijų susidūrimas statusas T sritis Politika apibrėžtis Koncepcija, teigianti, kad pasibaigus Šaltajam karui ir jo metu vyravusiai ideologinei liberalizmo ir komunizmo priešpriešai, tarptautinius konfliktus daugiausia lems kultūriniai ir civilizaciniai Vakarų ir Rytų krikščionybės, konfucionizmo, islamo, induizmo ir kiti skirtumai. Pasak koncepcijos, šiuolaikinė tarptautinė sistema keisis tokia linkme, kad į regioninius junginius telksis kuriai nors vienai civilizacijai priklausančios valstybės. Dėl nesuderinamų civilizacinių skirtumų ir ekspansyvaus Vakarų krikščionybės, kuri savo svarbiausias vertybes traktuoja kaip visuotines, pobūdžio stiprės tų susivienijimų konfliktai. Žymiausias koncepcijos kūrėjas – S. Huntingtonas. Koncepcija nemažai kritikuota, pagrindinis kritikos argumentas yra tai, jog civilizaciniai skirtumai, kad ir kokie matomi ir svarbūs, savo reikšme nepranoksta kitų konfliktų, kylančių dėl politinių ir ekonominių priežasčių. atitikmenys: angl. clash of civilizations
